Local painters, straight answers
Painters who spend the time on the prep, tell you what the surface needs, and leave the house cleaner than they found it.
About Nashville's Painters
Nashville's Painters is a painting company serving Nashville and 64 more towns across 12 counties of Middle Tennessee — and we stake our name on how the work goes.
A paint job is three days of preparation and one of painting, and the bad ones skip the three. Our painters prime bare wood, caulk the gaps, fix the drywall before they roll it, and put the whole scope in writing so the finish holds.
What we do
- Prep before paint. Scrape, sand, prime, caulk; the finish is only as good as the surface under it, and the prep is itemized in the quote.
- Match the product to the surface. Elastomeric on stucco, acrylic on siding, enamel on trim; the label on the can is chosen for the wall, not for the price.
- One price for the job. Labor, materials and the coats it will take, written before the drop cloths go down.
What we will not do
- Paint over failing paint. Peeling that is not scraped comes back through the new coat in a season.
- Spray exteriors in the wind. Overspray on a neighbor’s car is the story every bad painter has; on a windy day the work waits.
- Charge for a coat you did not need. A close color change is two coats; a drastic one may need a tinted primer, and you hear which before you pay.
What we actually work on
What painting contractors get asked for inside and out, and what each job covers.
The painting problems Middle Tennessee homeowners bring us most often:
- Paint peeling or fading outside
- Kitchen looks dated
- Selling and need it fresh
- Just moved in
- Patch jobs that never matched
- Color you have hated for years
Who does the work
Our painting crews carry liability insurance we hold on file, and any crew working on a pre-1978 house holds the EPA lead-safe certification the law requires.
Beyond the paperwork, the test is how somebody handles the part of a painting job that does not go to plan — the honest call when the estimate has to change, and whether you hear about it before the work or after. The painters who stay with us are the ones who have passed that test on jobs we know about.
Why we do not publish reviews yet
There are no testimonials on this site yet; a painting company this young quoting delighted customers would be quoting someone else’s, and we would rather show you a finished wall.
Where we work
Painters serving Nashville work Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville as well, across 65 towns and 12 counties. Each of the main cities has its own page — what its houses mean for painting, who issues the permits, which neighborhoods are inside the run.
If you want to understand the work before you speak to anyone, our painting guide covers what drives the price, what your options are and what a badly done job looks like — written so you can judge any painter in the region, including us.
Who we are
Michael Blair is the owner of Nashville's Painters; he runs it, and accountability for its words sits with him. The pages draw on Tennessee code, paint makers’ product documentation and how the painting trade does the job, and they are revised as those change; each post carries his name and its date. The painters, licensed and insured, answer to the commitments listed above, and Nashville's Painters stands by the finished work.
Checking a painter, us included, takes a few minutes: where a Tennessee contractor’s license applies, verify.tn.gov shows it; the certificate of insurance is yours to request before anyone opens a can; and each city page names that town’s permit office.
